Agastache<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

There are about 30 species of perennials, in this genus. \u00a0They are native to dry often-hilly habitants in China, Japan, and North America. \u00a0Most are very upright with stiff angular stems clothed in toothed edges. \u00a0It bears lance shaped leaves \u00bd-6\u201d long depending species. \u00a0They can grow any where from 6\u201d-6\u2019 feet tall. \u00a0On upright stem tip bear long lasting spikes of tubular, 2-lipped flowers from mid summer to autumn. \u00a0Flowers are usually white, pink, mauve, or purple with bracts that back the flowers being the same or slightly contrasting in color.<\/p>\n

Easily grown in moist well-drained fertile soil and prefers sunny position. \u00a0Most will tolerant occasional frost down to 20 degree Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n

Prone to mildew, rusts, downy mildew<\/i><\/em>, and are very attractive to insects.<\/p>\n

Agastache scrophulariifolia \u2013 Purple Giant Hyssop<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This erect bushy perennial grows 4\u2019 feet tall and 1\u2019 foot wide derives from Northeast to Central USA. \u00a0Bearing oval egg shaped to lance shaped leaves that are 2\u201d long and hairy. \u00a0In late summer and early autumn it bears rose to purple flowers on 4-10\u201d inch spikes.<\/p>\n

Premium Series cultivars produce spikes 8-10\u201d long in blue, white, apricot, and bright reddish rose<\/p>\n
