V. spicata \u2013 V. kellereri – Digger Speedwell \u2013 Spike Speedwell<\/strong> \u2013 This mat forming perennial with rooting stems from Europe to Turkey grows 12-24\u201d tall and 18\u201d-3\u2019 feet wide. It produces mid green, linear to lanceolate shaped, toothed, hairy leaves, to 3\u201d long. From early to late summer, it bears star shaped, bright blue flowers, with long purple stamens in dense pyramidal, terminal racemes, to 12\u201d long.<\/p>\n

perennial – Veronicas are easily grown. The alpine and rock garden grow well in poor to moderately fertile, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Protect those with felted leaves from excessive winter moisture. Grow border veronicas in loamy, moderately fertile, moist but well drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
