It produces lance shaped, minutely toothed, glossy, blue green leaves to 1 \u00bd\u201d long turning purple in autumn. Bell shaped white, sometimes pink tinged flowers, \u00bd\u201d long are borne in pendent, axillary ant terminal racemes to 2\u201d long, in mid and late spring, they are followed by edible, sweet, spherical, blue-black berries, to \u00bd\u201d across. Prefers well-drained acidic soil.<\/p>\n

Grow in acidic, peaty or sandy, moist but well drained soil in full sun or partial shade, some prefer boggy ground. Protect from the hottest summer sun.<\/p>\n
