It produces abundant glossy, mid green leaves, each composed of 5-7 narrowly elliptic to narrowly ovate leaflets, up to 2-3″ long, which are reddish tinted when young and turn russet in fall. In early summer it bears large corymbs of upward of 80, cupped, single, fragrant, creamy white flowers, that are 1″ across, followed by orange-red hips in fall.
